Boniface Mathu Biography

Boniface is a dedicated agricultural and tourism professional with over three years of focused research and farming experience in the growing field of industrial hemp. He is passionate about the transformative potential of hemp to improve Kenya’s agriculture and economy. With hands-on expertise in farm operations, Boniface has cultivated a variety of crops, including onions, French beans, cabbages, and tomatoes in Kajiado, alongside managing a tea plantation in Muranga. His deep connection to farming began in Nyandarua County, where he grew up on his parents’ farm, engaging in mixed farming of maize, potatoes, beans, carrots, mushrooms, and avocadoes.

Over the past three years, Boniface has applied his farming knowledge to hemp research, working closely with agronomists to ensure best practices in pest control, fertilization, and record-keeping. His dedication to understanding the environmental and economic benefits of hemp underscores his vision for its potential to address food security and sustainability issues in Kenya. He is excited to further contribute to hemp-based projects in the country, driven by his commitment to agricultural innovation.

In addition to his farming experience, Boniface has a solid background in transport management, having worked as an Assistant Transport Manager at *Unicore Projectors* and a Transport Operations Manager at *Joycot General Contractors Ltd*. His expertise in coordinating logistics, managing teams, and ensuring operational efficiency complements his agricultural work. Boniface holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management from Makerere University and is known for his excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as his passion for learning new approaches in sustainable farming.
